In: The Educator CEL For teachers review Movements> Freinet movement in March 1961 Update on the fortnight THE CROSSROADS Association for the modernization of education at all levels every year on the eve of our great International Congress Modern School, we reconsider the structure and orientation of our movement, to better fit the secular school we want to serve, for a demanding pedagogy by geometry helper homework
reason of its foundation and its goals. Some comrades sometimes emeuvent because they readily compare our permanent dissatisfaction with the formula centenary of most educational journals and almost unchanging tradition of publishing houses.
We know how conformism facilitates propaganda among readers who do not like being pushed around in their habits and need to find in the same place, through the years, the same items they always use the same way. Our role is just to keep anxiety and curiosity to shake this conformism to remain faithful to this Modernizing Education that we made a flag. The world changes from one year to another.
This is a year to year that we have to review our research themes and action if we want to prepare for 1961, the School 1961. This is a particular point in that we reconsideration attack today. For thirty-five years all our educational activity, cultural and social was centered on our Cooperative Education Lay (CEL), a powerful cooperative by the number, the dedication of its members without limits, by the extent of its activities and significance of cases dealt with.
Those of our colleagues who have not participated in this adventure willingly reproach us for having mingled and commerce and education, while it would be so easy to stick to the specialties of our business, without wasting time or compromise. I would remind those and young people each year join us that our teaching was not built on theoretical speculations but on the technical achievements, without which nothing would be what is to date our rich common heritage, C is a carpenter from Bar-sur-Loup who made our first wooden presses.
A father, a mechanic craftsman Corbelin (Isere) which exercised our friends Faure was intrigued by this small press that so fascinated her son. He made indestructible steel presses, then, when we were able to approach the series, he sank us presses aluminum, we continued the model. We had cards, no reasonable editor would have wanted to take a few hundred copies; we printed them ourselves to launch our File Cooperative School.
Teaching discs that we felt the need, completely lacking: we have begun publishing by subscription. Our first Gerbe was really a children Corevue: each of 10, 20, 30 classes involved in this nascent movement sent us their leaves from 80 copies and we agrafions by makeshift means in a beautiful illustrated cover of a drawing representing a child hugging a symbolic wreath of branches and flowers.
Our collection is B.T. humbly born of our determination to achieve the documentary collection of the reach of children required the evolution of our techniques. We mounted our C.E. L. as we built Freinet school, from scratch, hiring in advance of funds that we did not have, with total confidence the researcher believes that the flame lit not be quenched.
We stood at 10, then 100, and 1000, all passionate about this common work was vital and we who paid us early on in multiple satisfactions, endless sacrifices made knowingly. And those sacrifices were permanent. It was not only the action of 50 francs to pay to entry (in 1926, at least 100 existing NC), but the new funds to offer for each of the embodiments discussed in full cooperation, it is gradually and as we were subscriptions that we manufactured presses, and perform file, CD and BT This is because a thousand comrades “elite Cooperators” funded the purchase of the land from Cannes and construction our beautiful home we have today jointly an honorable office to our appointment and our guarantee, and this is as we joined the dedicated comrades that went enriched the educator, the Gerbe Enfantines and this collection will undoubtedly be a unique event in the history of our teaching (there are still some collections that will one day soon a bibliophile rarity).
